Analyzing web site pages
Appearances are deceptive. Even though a web page can look quite unremarkable, doing a full technical analysis will show some interesting facts. Site Vigil 's analyzer tool lets you understand why a competitor's web page may be achieving a higher search engine position ranking than yours is.
The Site Vigil screen shot shows the results for analysing a single page http://www.sacu.org. It gives the Title and the IP address on which it is hosted. Buttons then let you get Who Is information about the physical owner and location of the domain and the web server. A button also will show an Alexa ➚ report about the domain name giving a great deal of further information, including web traffic ranking and linked web sites.
The report then goes on to report that there are ten links to other pages within the same web site and none to external sites.
The META header can be used to place a Description and Keywords for the use of robots, including some search engines.
Site Vigil also does some basic checks on HTML syntax, if it finds any problems it will report them and let them be viewed.
Finally, you can automatically check the page at regular time intervals, so you can be told, when for instance it has changed.
