Keeping vital Statistics
Web servers keep track of all pages accessed by users. This is vital information needed for analysing the pattern of user visits, the keywords used to reach the site and the time spent on the site.
Most servers keep the information for only a limited length of time before deleting it. Site Vigil can automatically build a copy of all the server log files on a local PC giving you the option of keeping a separate, offline copy.
As well as periodically tidying up log files, a web server may crash or be relocated to a new server - losing this important information completely. With Site Vigil you can choose to store the log files out of harms way on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
The locally archived log files can then be fed back into Site Vigil or other log analysis packages.
